This event will feature a same-day episode of the new docuseries “The Warfighters."

Through firsthand accounts from veterans, the docuseries gives viewers a candid look at the realities of modern combat, drawing from recent U.S. Special Operations Forces missions in the global war on terror. Hosted by actor and director Peter Berg, the series will debut on the History Channel on Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. More than 90 veterans participated in the production.

Following the screening, Michael Baumgarten, producer of “The Warfighters;” and U.S. Army Major Michael Kelvington MPA ’17, a downing scholar at West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center, will discuss the experiences of soldiers on the ground in the war on terror.

Baumgarten joined the U.S. Army in 2001, serving for approximately 10 years, mostly in the 1st Ranger Battalion. He deployed 10 times to Iraq and Afghanistan in every duty position from rifleman to weapons squad leader. After leaving the Army in 2013, he studied anthropology in San Diego and then helped to produce “The Warfighters.” He also helped to produce the upcoming History Channel show, “The Selection: Special Operations Experiment.”

Kelvington serves in the U.S. Army as an infantry officer. He deployed seven times to combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, including four times with the 75th Ranger Regiment. At the conclusion of his studies at Princeton, Mike will return to the Ranger Regiment.
