President Donald Trump’s plan to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census has sparked controversy in Washington and beyond. Below, Princeton University scholar Douglas S. Professor Edward Felten has been nominated by President Donald Trump for a position on the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB). The five-person board, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, is charged with ensuring that the federal government’s efforts to thwart terrorism are in line with protecting privacy and civil liberties.Felten is the Robert E. An essay by Kishan Bhatt ’17 MPA ’21 has been selected as one of the top 100 global submissions for the 30th edition of the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award.As a result of this honor, Bhatt will attend the 48th St. Gallen Symposium in St. Gallen, Switzerland, in early May, where the top five essay-writers (to be selected in April) will present their ideas on stage. Program in Law and Public Affairs Announces 2018 Liman Fellows
The Princeton University Program in Law and Public Affairs (LAPA), based at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, has named five undergraduates as 2018 Arthur Liman Fellows in Public Interest Law. The fellowship will enable these students to spend eight to 10 weeks in summer 2018 in an internship serving the needs of people and causes that might otherwise go unrepresented. Reinhardt, Cheng Recognized for Contributions to Health Policy
The late Uwe Reinhardt was awarded the Chair Award by AcademyHealth, the country’s leading national organization for health services researchers, policymakers, and health care practitioners. The Chair Award recognizes a national leader who has significantly contributed to moving health services research into policy and practice.
