John W. Limbert Named 2015–16 Gruss-Lipper Scholar in Middle East Policy Studies
John W. Limbert, the Class of 1955 Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at the U.S. Naval Academy, will be joining Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs as the Gruss-Lipper Scholar in Middle East Policy Studies for the 2015–16 year. Limbert is the former deputy assistant secretary of state for Iran for the U.S. Department of State’s bureau of near eastern affairs. Wilson School Mourns the Loss of Clementa Pinckney
Message from Dean Cecilia Rouse: We at the Woodrow Wilson School were deeply saddened to learn that Clementa Pinckney was murdered in a horrific hate crime at his church, the Mother Emanuel A.M.E. in Charleston, South Carolina. A senior pastor at Mother Emanuel and a member of the South Carolina Senate, he had been conducting Bible study at the time of the mass shooting. We knew Clementa from the summer of 1994, when he participated in the Junior Summer Institute (JSI) at the Wilson School – a program Princeton has hosted since 1985. Keohanes Receive Honorary Doctor of Letters Degrees from University of St. Andrews
Professors Robert O. Keohane and Nannerl O. Keohane were awarded honorary doctor of letters degrees by the University of St. Andrews in Scotland on June 23, 2015. Robert is a professor of international affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, former president of the American Political Science Association and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Nannerl was the Laurance S. Rockefeller Distinguished Visiting Professor of Public Affairs between 2005 and 2013 and a senior scholar from 2013 to 2014 at the Wilson School and Princeton University’s Center for Human Values.
