Biography
Originally from a small town in Georgia, Claire moved to Washington, D.C., to study Spanish and international affairs at the George Washington University. After graduating, Claire lived for a year in Colombia, reporting as a journalist during the height of the government's peace accords with the FARC guerrilla group. Claire returned to the U.S. to advocate for social equity on numerous progressive political campaigns, including Bernie Sanders' presidential run. In 2018, Claire joined the U.S. Department of State and moved to El Salvador, where she served as a consular officer at the U.S. Embassy. In El Salvador, Claire received the Superior Honor Award for her leadership in extending opportunities for Salvadoran farmers to work in the U.S. through temporary work visas. This summer, Claire interned at the Executive Office of the Secretary General at the United Nations. She is passionate about expanding ethical migrant labor opportunities across the world. In her free time, Claire loves rock climbing and whistling everywhere she goes.
