Hilary Landfried
Biography
Hailing from Hermitage, Pennsylvania, Hilary graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A in philosophy. She began her career as a program manager for Project Gaia, promoting renewable fuels for household energy in East Africa and the Caribbean. She then joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service as an international program specialist and international trade specialist, designing climate smart agriculture and natural resources programs, managing portfolios in Tanzania, Kenya, and Pakistan, and coordinating the U.S. Government’s representation to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation's Policy Partnership on Food Security. Prior to coming to Princeton University, Hilary was a design specialist and facilitator at the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance, where she advised teams on design thinking and strategic planning. She worked this summer as a Strategic Foresight Intern at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. At Princeton, Hilary is eager to deepen her expertise in strategic foresight, systems thinking, and participatory approaches to complex policy issues surrounding food security and climate change adaptation.
