Kathleen Hannick
Biography
Kate graduated from Seattle University in 2019 with bachelor’s degrees in economics and public policy and with minors in Mandarin Chinese and East Asian studies. During college, Kate interned for Governor Jay Inslee, Senator Claire McCaskill, and Congresswoman Pramilia Jayapal. She also spent a year working as a policy fellow for WEPOWER, a racial justice nonprofit in her hometown of Saint Louis. In 2018, Kate was named a Harry S. Truman Scholar. After graduation, Kate joined the USC-Brookings Schaeffer Initiative for Health Policy as a research assistant. Throughout her time at Brookings, Kate was a member of the Brookings United organizing committee, which successfully organized a union for the institution’s non-supervisory staff. At Princeton, Kate intends to study domestic and economic policy as she is passionate about building a more equitable and just economy. Kate enjoys reading, exploring public parks, traveling, as well as viewing and creating art.
