Environ Economics & Policy/Political Science, B.S./B.A.
“There are a number of master’s programs specifically for environmental policy, but I was clear that I wanted to be in a broader program with folks from all sorts of fields and backgrounds. Tunnel vision is never a good thing, and I’m looking forward to being exposed to policy issues and approaches I wouldn’t have encountered in my normal networks. The small and connected atmosphere at the Woo lends itself particularly well to this goal, and I expect to constantly be challenged and enriched by the academic community here.” (Hometown: Davis, California)
Biography
Katrina’s professional interests lie at the intersection of energy, climate and public lands policy. Following undergrad she worked for two years on energy policy at Resources for the Future, an environmental economics think tank in D.C. Looking to get out from behind a desk, she then spent two seasons serving with AmeriCorps on public lands across Nevada, Montana and Wyoming. Immediately before returning to school, she worked at an environmental law organization where she learned more than she ever thought she would about Rocky Mountain ungulates. She spent summer 2019 interning at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, where she focused on affordability analysis and tracking wildfire issues.
