Biography

Prior to graduate studies, Nausheen worked as a senior associate in the Asia Regional Business Unit at Chemonics International, where she provided project management and business development support for USAID-funded projects. Previously, she has engaged with issues at the intersection of foreign affairs and economic development through work with the United States Department of State, leading think tanks in Washington, D.C., and initiatives that have built the capacity of women to create, sustain and scale their businesses in Pakistan. Outside of work, she managed college access programs for her Muslim community across the northeastern United States. Nausheen is particularly interested in the nexus of urban development policy from the local and international lenses, and plans to join the federal government to work on development policy efforts that strengthen political institutions, uphold the rule of law, and enhance the quality of life of people in the U.S. and abroad. This past summer, she was awarded the Harold W. Rosenthal Fellowship in International Relations with the U.S. Department of Labor. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, trying new foods, and organizing in her local community. Nausheen graduated with bachelor’s degrees in international studies and Asian studies from American University, and is excited to study international development and urban policy as an MPA student at Princeton.
