Biography
Growing up in Oakland, California, and attending Mount Holyoke College nurtured Olivia’s love for community advocacy, social justice, and urban policy. For the past three years, Olivia worked for the City and County of San Francisco as a social impact program coordinator where she facilitated public-private partnerships that support community initiatives led by local nonprofits. Her work particularly focused on initiatives that improve youth education, job access, small business development, and environmental health in low-income communities surrounding public infrastructure projects. This past year, Olivia also served on the City of Oakland’s Reimagining Public Safety Advisory Board developing recommendations for Oakland City Council to reallocate some Oakland Police Department funding towards trauma-informed responses that more effectively address root causes of crime. As an undergraduate student, Olivia attended Princeton’s Public Policy and International Affairs Junior Summer Institute and completed congressional internships in the offices of Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congresswoman Barbara Lee. She is thrilled to return to Princeton as a graduate student to work towards her goal to become a policy analyst or urban planner after graduation, and possibly run for office in local government someday. In her free time, Olivia enjoys hiking, bike rides, R&B music, dancing, street festivals in her city, and traveling to new places.
