Biography

TJ was born and raised in Illinois and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where he studied Spanish and biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience. Upon graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked at EAB, a higher education consulting firm specializing in best practice research and student success technologies. At EAB, TJ enjoyed researching higher education leaders’ top concerns in the online and graduate learning spaces. His career then took him to KIPP DC, a PK 3-12 public-school system where he worked as a data analyst supporting college and career counselors in their work with high school students and recent graduates. Afterward, he served as a U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Andorra, where he taught English and American culture and directed a Drama Club at the country’s vocational and professional studies center. During the summer, TJ interned with the U.S. Department of Education and is currently serving as a graduate fellow with the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education. In his free time, he enjoys playing Settlers of Catan, reading a good book (he’s always looking for recommendations), or hiking with friends. He is excited to learn from his peers at Princeton and aspires to leverage his policy research, data, and teaching experiences in the U.S. federal government after graduation.
