Biography

Zach was born in Haiti and lived in Bangladesh as the son of development workers. He spent the rest of his childhood in the “Mennonite capital” of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and naturally, attended Eastern Mennonite University to study economics and learn more about Mennonite peacebuilding thought. For over two years, Zach was the program coordinator for Lebanon and Syria with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), where he managed 50+ projects across a variety of sectors as part of MCC’s Syria Crisis Response. This included multi-million dollar food security and livelihoods projects, and a regional EU-funded peacebuilding project, aimed at promoting religious tolerance and mutual understanding in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq. Previously, Zach worked in financial products and business analysis with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health Plan. After Princeton, Zach hopes to work  in addressing issues of poverty, food insecurity, and inequality in his home state through working in the Pennsylvania state government. Prior to arriving at Princeton, Zach spent the summer traveling across the United States with his wife, Meghan, to visit family in Montana, Michigan, and North Dakota. This past summer, he completed his MPA internship working with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Zach is an avid Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers fan and enjoys running, reading, and playing with his three-legged Lebanese cat, Karkour.
