KTC Student Affiliates have the opportunity to hear about ways to disseminate behavioral science insights among and beyond the academic community in this informal lunchtime chat with Behavioral Scientist Editor-in-Chief Evan Nesterak on Friday, March 3 at 12:15pm.

Behavioral Scientist is a non-profit, editorially-independent digital magazine that offers readers original, thought-provoking reports from the front lines of behavioral science. (The Kahneman-Treisman Center, while playing no role in the editorial decisions of the magazine, is a supporting partner.) Born out of the labs and offices of leading researchers, practitioners, and journalists, its mission is to help readers make sense of today’s world through a deeper understanding of human behavior. The organization aims to build the Behavioral Scientist into the defining source for news and analysis in the field and "to cultivate the field’s community and conscience by bringing together behavioral scientists and the broader public without shying away from key discussions and debates."

Founder and Editor-in-Chief Evan Nesterak will beam into the conversation about how researchers and practitioners involved in behavioral science-related work can get their work into the wider world. He will talk about the practice of approaching science from a journalistic point of view, the role of storytelling in disseminating science and making policy recommendations, and how the choice of communications approach--from summarizing key findings, interviewing experts, and curating content elsewhere available--can affect the reach and impact of the work.

Though focused primarily on the interests of Princeton undergraduate and graduate students (and postdocs, too!), this session is open to all members of the University community.

Registration is requested for all attendees. In-person lunch meeting (beginning at 12:15pm in 430 Robertson) is for Princeton undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs only. All other interested individuals can join via Zoom (link to be sent to registered participants prior to the event).
