Dear Princeton SPIA community,
I recently shared with alumni, students, faculty, and staff the many ways the School is assisting those affected by recent changes at the federal level. This includes career-focused programming, in-person networking for students and alumni, and events where students can engage with SPIA faculty for insights on navigating change. Just last week, more than 300 students and alumni met at the SPIA in D.C. Center for an evening of fellowship and conversation.
At the same time, we continue to engage in the activities that make this a special and unique place: world-class teaching from an unparalleled faculty and ground-breaking research by renowned scholars, all in the service of making the world better. Many examples are included in this issue of the newsletter.
Noting these achievements is important. The Princeton SPIA legacy has been built over nearly a century of successes, through presidential administrations of both parties, through wars, through climate catastrophes, and through a global pandemic. We remain as deeply committed to our mission of service as ever.
In the meantime, we are busy connecting students with alumni, and alumni with each other. We are also welcoming speakers of varied backgrounds, showing students that there are numerous pathways to public service, including nonprofits, NGOs, and working in state and local governments.
I am grateful that you are a part of our Princeton SPIA community. Thank you for all you do for the School and its people.
Warm regards,
Amaney Jamal
Dean
