We are pleased to join the Alliance for Data, Evaluation, and Policy Training (ADEPT), a global initiative convened by the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and Community Jameel, as a founding member.

To celebrate the formal launch of the global alliance, we participated in an event held at Insper in São Paulo, Brazil on March 25.

The event featured panels with Esther Duflo and Sara Fisher Ellison from MIT and George Richards from Community Jameel, joined by speakers from ENSEA, J-PAL LAC, Princeton SPIA (go tigers!), and more.

In a series of panel discussions, we discussed how this network will empower the next generation of policymakers and researchers from around the world.

Here at Princeton SPIA, we are pleased to be a pipeline university. Beginning with the fall 2025 application, we will recognize the Data, Economics, and Design of Policy (DEDP) MicroMasters credential in the admissions process to our MPA and MPP masters programs.

The DEDP MicroMasters program, jointly run by J-PAL and the MIT Economics Department, is a rigorous online program that equips students with a solid foundation in economics, data analysis, and policy design, making it a strong preparation for advanced public policy studies, like what we offer here at Princeton SPIA.

While the DEDP MicroMasters credential is not a requirement for admission to Princeton SPIA, where included, the admissions committees will take the credential into account during our admissions processes, recognizing the strong preparation it provides for advanced quantitative study.

If admitted, the content in economics, data analysis, and policy design will serve as a solid foundation that will further help prepare students for the rigor of Princeton SPIA’s graduate coursework.

Students who complete the DEDP MicroMasters credential by passing the proctored exams will be well-prepared to take our courses and potentially place into higher level quantitative courses.

While no course credit is given for courses taken at other institutions, and no automatic waivers are granted, DEDP credential holders are highly equipped to succeed at Princeton SPIA and in our advanced coursework. This unique preparation can enrich your academic journey by further preparing you for our advanced quantitative courses.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to leverage your DEDP credential!
