Afghan Policy Lab Roundtable: Delivering Humanitarian Assistance
In the first of a series of roundtables, the Afghanistan Policy Lab will convene a small group of leaders, experts, and Princeton students and faculty to discuss and further develop policy recommendations for the complex challenge of delivering humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime. The discussion will be closed to the public and off-the-record, though the conversation will inform policy briefs issued by the Lab.

Bios
Abdallah Al Dardari is the United Nations Development Program’s Resident Representative in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was formerly the Minister of Planning and Deputy Prime Minister of Economic Affairs in Syria and Chief Economist of the UN’s Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
Becky Roby is the Afghanistan Advocacy Manager for the Norwegian Refugee Council, an independent humanitarian organization. She is an experienced humanitarian aid worker, previously with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).
Dhabie Brown is Senior Humanitarian Policy Advocate at CARE, an international humanitarian organization fighting poverty and world hunger. She was previously Humanitarian Advocacy Advisor for the International Rescue Committee in Iraq.
Adela Raz is the Director of the Afghanistan Policy Lab at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. She was Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the United States from July 2021 to February 2022 and the United Nations Permanent Representative from Afghanistan from December 2018 to June 2021.
Storai Tapesh is a Fellow in the Afghanistan Policy Lab at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. She was formerly chair and board member of the Afghan Women Social Protection Organization (AWSPO) and a member of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) technical committee in the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Gran Hewad is Resident Fellow in the Afghanistan Policy Lab at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. He was previously Spokesperson and Director of Communication and Public Affairs in the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a researcher with the Afghanistan Analysts Network (AAN).
