As Donald Trump enters his second term in office, what does the public think about some of his signature policies, both in principle and in action? While Trump's margins were razor thin in 2024, suggesting he does not have a broad mandate for governing, he has already taken substantial action on those policies. Ruth Igielnik, who conducts public opinion polling for the New York Times, will break down the numbers to help understand how Americans are feeling about some of the key policies that have become central to Trump's brand. And in such a closely-divided electorate, how does polling perform and what insights can it provide?
