Established in 1990 by economists Mahboob Ul Haq and Amartya Sen, the Human Development Reports (HDR) analyze international development using a people-centered approach. HDR 1990 said, “People are the real wealth of nations.” HDR 2019 uses the human lens to shed light on a new generation of inequalities emerging as new technologies and climate change are reshaping the world in myriad ways.
