On October 4-6, 2017 Princeton University’s Innovations for Successful Societies (ISS) research program will team up with the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) to host a 3-day leadership workshop for senior United Nations staff about innovation to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The workshop sessions will highlight successful leadership approaches to jumpstart and sustain innovation throughout the UN ecosystem and help overcome the organizational and technical barriers to achievement of the SDGs. This discussions will draw on case studies by our own program as well as insights from key experts in international affairs, politics, management, and behavioral economics to address the questions:
- What does it mean to think like an innovator?
- How do we foster innovative problem solving in large organizations?
- How can leaders create, protect, and sustain an environment for change?
- How do we scale up innovation in the UN system to support the SDGs?
