Special operations forces play a unique role in supporting the U.S. National Defense Strategy, one that has evolved and adapted to meet present and future security threats. Pat Cohen (MPP ’25) has served in Naval Special Warfare since 2010, most recently as the Deputy Commander of SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team ONE in Oahu, HI.  In this forum, Pat will use case studies from his career to discuss leadership lessons learned and provide insight into the foundational training, organization, and core mission sets of the Navy’s Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) Teams.

MPP Forum is a weekly event normally scheduled on Fridays with *lunch during the academic year. It allows each MPP student to showcase their career journey and expertise on a policy issue of their choice with the SPIA community. This formal presentation lasts about 50 minutes, followed by a 20-minute Q&A.

*RSVP required. We will try our best, but we cannot guarantee accommodation for all dietary restrictions.
