WWAC Service Event: Salaam Neighbor Film Screening and Fundraiser; April 7, 7:30 PM, McCosh 50; Suggested donation $10
The Princeton Refugee Project and the WWAC Service Chairs invite the entire Princeton community to a screening of “Salaam Neighbor”, a documentary taking viewers inside Jordan’s Za’atari Refugee camp, now Jordan’s fourth largest city and home to tens of thousands of Syrian refugees, including 10,000 young people ages 18-24. Filmmakers Zach and Chris spent a month living in Za’atari Camp, and "Salam Neighbor" shares the story of their friends in the camp, giving a human face to the Syrian crisis. A panel discussion will follow the film screening.
This event is a Princeton Refugee Project fundraiser for the Amal-Jusoor Scholarship Fund, supporting scholarships for Syrian refugee students to attend university in Jordan. Funds raised will also support Church World Service’s efforts to re-settle Syrian refugees.
This event is open to the public and co-sponsored by WWAC Service Chairs, the Nassau Presbyterian Church, the Princeton Clay Project, Center for Jewish Life, and Pace Center for Civic Engagement.
