Pietro Ortoleva
Biography
Pietro Ortoleva is a Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University. He earned an undergraduate degree at the Università di Torino and a Ph.D. in Economics at New York University. Prior to joining Princeton, he taught at the California Institute of Technology and at Columbia University. He is currently a co-editor of the American Economic Review.
Prof. Ortoleva’s research focuses on economic theory, behavioral and experimental economics, and political economy. His recent work studies the relation between time and risk preferences; preferences for randomization; misspecified models in complex environments; models of reference-dependence; mechanism design; and large-scale incentivized surveys with a focus on the correlation between behavioral aspects.
