Meg Jacobs, a senior research scholar at Princeton University, has been elected a member of the Society of American Historians.
Founded in 1939, the Society of American Historians encourages and honors literary distinction in the writing of history and biography about American topics. Members are elected based on their demonstrated commitment to literary distinction in the writing and presentation of history and biography.
Jacobs studies American politics and energy policy. She is the author of “Pocketbook Politics: Economic Citizenship in Twentieth-Century America,” and, more recently, “Panic at the Pump: The Energy Crisis and the Transformation of American Politics in the 1970s.” She is currently working on a new book with Viking Press about the history of the New Deal and World War II.
