‘Knowing the Adversary’ Receives Edgar S. Furniss Book Award

A book by Keren Yarhi-Milo, assistant professor of politics and international affairs at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, is the recipient of the Edgar S. Furniss Book Award by the Mershon Center for International Security Studies at The Ohio State University.

Knowing the Adversary: Leaders, Intelligence, and Assessment of Intentions in International Relations" was published in 2014 by Princeton University Press and explores how and why civilian leaders and intelligence organizations select and interpret an adversary’s signals of intentions differently. Yarhi-Milo’s research and teaching focus on international relations and foreign policy with a particular specialization in international security.

The Edgar S. Furniss Book Award commemorates the founding director of the Mershon Center and is given annually to an author whose first book makes an exceptional contribution to the study of national and international security. The winning author receives a cash award and is invited to address the faculty of the Mershon Center.
