We know the wait from our December 1, 2018 application deadline to our March 15, 2019 admission decision release date is very long. Thank you for your patience. In the interim, we will not be able to provide additional information via phone or email; please sit tight for just a bit longer. Your admission decision will come via email from The Graduate School on or around March 15.
Depending on the file, there may be up to 10 different individuals who will read and consider an application BEFORE it is ever discussed and debated at one of our admission committee meetings. This year, we had 15 people at our MPA admission committee meetings.
Our process is robust and we invest heavily in it. Since we draw widely from our community to help us in our review process, it takes time. Again, thank you for your patience. We engage faculty, administrators, alumni and admission professionals, and we read every application individually and on its own merits. We consider each file holistically and we take a holistic view to the task of composing our incoming class.
We have far fewer spots than qualified candidates. For the lucky few that are offered a space in one of our three graduate degree programs, congratulations. But also, since we operate on a consensus-basis in our decision-making, we hope the above provides a bit of color regarding just how many people have to say, “Yes!” before an offer of admission is extended. Our programs are demanding, but so too is our process of selection.
From all of us involved with the admission process at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to apply to our School. Thank you for investing your energy into our process. And thank you for telling us who you are. We enjoyed learning about your stories and what drives you.
