Michael Koplow, Chief Policy Officer of Israel Policy Forum, will be speaking at at Wilf Hall at the
Center for Jewish Life on Israel-Turkey relations — its historical background, the crisis of relations
between Ankara and Jerusalem in the past fifteen years, and the recent normalization of ties between
the two countries. The talk will also touch on the broader regional implications of this relationship,
particularly in the context of contested Eastern Mediterranean maritime claims and Iran. Koplow
previously worked on Turkey-related issues before entering the Israel-Palestine space in his role at
IPF and maintains the blog Ottomans and Zionists. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for
International Security Studies’ Policy Speakers Series, the Liechtenstein Institute for
Self-Determination, J Street U, Tigers for Israel, and the Turkish Students Association.
