The opioid epidemic has become a public health crisis, fueled in part by the over-prescribing of pain medications. This crisis demands that we re-assess how we treat chronic pain.
The Nicholson Foundation and the Woodrow Wilson School’s Center for Health and Wellbeing will host a symposium on December 2nd, 2016, focusing on the relationship between the treatment of pain and the opioid epidemic.
Conference speakers include experts on pain and addiction, federal health officials, front-line medical workers and prize-winning professors. They will explore how and why we treat chronic pain, and how this approach contributes to the national opioid epidemic. Princeton's own Anne Case and Sir Angus Deaton will discuss their latest research.
