Biography
Alvaro Carril, a Lecturer in the School of Public and International Affairs, is an economist and data scientist. His research applies quantitative methods, drawing from econometrics, statistics, and machine learning, to better understand the decisions of people and firms. Alvaro holds a PhD in economics from Princeton, where he was also a Social Data Science graduate fellow. During graduate school he also worked as a research affiliate and project manager at ConsiliumBots, as well as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank. Before his graduate studies, he worked at J-PAL, Teach for All, and the National Bureau of Economic Research.
