Jenna Overton
Biography
Jenna grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs before attending Harvard University, where she majored in environmental science and public policy and minored in English. After college, Jenna spent several years working as a research consultant for the U.S. Department of Transportation in Boston before pivoting to the nonprofit sector; she worked first as a SNAP coordinator for Mass Farmers Markets and then as an engagement coordinator at Benefits Data Trust, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that streamlines public benefit application processes. Jenna spent two years volunteering as a hotline counselor for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center and continually volunteers with soup kitchens and groups that clean public spaces in Philadelphia. Jenna spends her summers hiking and camping wherever she can drive – namely the White Mountains in New Hampshire, Acadia National Park, and the Smokey Mountains. This summer, she completed her internship with the Rockefeller Foundation. After graduating from the School, Jenna aims to work at the intersection of food security, public health, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture.
