Biography

Rody was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, with his 2 siblings, and parents who are both from Haiti. Through his academic, personal, and professional experience, Rody has pursued his passion for advancing fair and equitable criminal justice-related policies. After law school, Rody dedicated his entire career to public service and currently serves as a senior legislative analyst at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). At OMB, Rody is assigned to justice-related legislative issues including police reform, prison reform, drug control, gun control, terrorism, bankruptcy, antitrust and election law. Rody is also a part-time faculty member at American University’s Department of Justice, Law and Criminology where he lectures on the intersection of public policy and the criminal justice system. Outside of work, Rody’s personal interests include traveling, acting, boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. At SPIA, Rody intends to deepen his understanding of the current and potential social impacts that domestic policies have on local communities. After graduating, Rody intends to continue developing, and lecturing on, criminal justice-related policy.
